DESEMPENHO AGRONÔMICO DE GENÓTIPOS DE UROCHLOA spp.

Releasing more competitive and adapted cultivars can elevate the productivity of regions with pasture-based livestock. The objective was to evaluate 27 genotypes from the genus Urochloa for agronomic traits in the North of Minas Gerais. Were evaluated 25 genotypes and two control cultivars (Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu and Urochloa spp. cv. Convert HD364) in a randomized block design with three replicates. The genotype T1712 had the highest forage yield (4.3 Mg ha-1 harvest-1) and did not from another 14 superior plants, including the controls. The genotypes BARG152, BARG155, BARG156, BARG171, BARG172, T1510, T1707, T1711 and T1712 had highest values to percentage of leaves and differed statistically from the controls. The average percentage of leaves of the superior plants was 75.81%. There were two groups of means for regrowth with 17 superior plants, including the control Convert HD364. The genotypes T1712, BARG156, BARG171 and T1510 had best agronomic end potential for region.
