Resumo

One way to improve grazing systems and increase productivity is to introduce legumes into the system. The objective of this work is to evaluate the productivity of the consortium between Tifton 85 and Peanut Forage. Two treatments and three replicates were used, being: Tifton 85 estreme and Tifton 85 consorciado with Peanut Forrageiro. Dry matter, forage mass and forage height and morphological composition were determined. Courts were made close to the ground in the area of 0.5x0.5m. There were no significant differences between the treatments, with respect to height, available mass, inflorescence mass, leaf / stem ratio, disappearance, animal load, animal unit, feed supply and total productivity. The forage intensities obtained greater amount of leaf mass and leaf mass, since the grasses compared to the legumes show a higher photosynthetic rate, resulting in higher production. In addition, grasses are more adaptable than legumes, making them more resistant. It is concluded that the yield of Tifton 85 pasture intercropped with forage peanut presented similar results to Tifton 85 pasture in prime growing.
