CARACTERÍSTICAS BROMATOLÓGICAS E PERFIL FERMENTATIVO DA SILAGEM DE Panicum maximum cv. MOMBAÇA ADITIVADO COM POLPA CITRICA

The forrage Panicummaximum cv. Mombaça has good features for production of silage, however, the low dry matter content of tropical forages requires the use of absorbent additives to obtain a quality silage. The objective of this work was to evaluate the different levels of inclusion of citrus pulp in the nutritional and fermentative quality of the Mombaça silage using experimental silos with four citrus pulp inclusion levels: 0%, 10%, 15% and 20%, after a period of 90 days. The use of citrus pulp as an additive contributed to the reduction of losses in the silage process, resulting in an improvement of the fermentation standard and increase in the nutritive quality of the ensiled material.
