Qualitative researchers in Poland as CAQDAS users. Example of an analysis using NVivo.

Introduction
Our talk is informed by current trends in the social sciences, a vibrant field with a strong presence in leading research centers around the world. Both academia and market players have shown interest in qualitative research, especially in facilitating its design and execution with CAQDAS software. Poland is no exception. Accordingly, we set out to showcase how Polish researchers, academics and practitioners regard the potential of computer-assisted qualitative data analysis, and to discuss our study design and course of its implementation.

Goals and Methods
The primary objective of our research was to address the perspective of qualitative researchers in Poland who employ CAQDAS software. Research questions centered on the role of CAQDAS in the analytic process, decision-making around the choice of a particular software package, expected benefits and concerns related to CAQDAS use, applicability of CAQDAS in research projects, and its impact on the research process. Data analysis was based on GT procedures such as open coding and selective coding, theoretical sampling, constant comparative method, and theoretical saturation.

Results
We will discuss the results of our survey of CAQDAS users in Poland as to how they perceive CAQDAS, providing examples. We will also report on the ways NVivo is used in the analytic process, while identifying the GT procedures adopted, and establishing the manner and scope of their implementation by Polish users of the programme.

Conclusions
Our findings revealed that, although this type of software is gaining popularity in Poland, and there are growing numbers of researchers who rely on it, researchers' expectations depart from the actual usability of CAQDAS tools. Our research detailed the strengths of CAQDAS tools according to qualitative researchers, but also revealed a number of doubts and criticisms raised by the qualitative research community in Poland with regard to CAQDAS tools.
