PHASE 1 – Abstracts

Works that address the objectives and themes of the Conference, including original scientific works addressing state-of-the-art research and new perspectives, solutions and/or applications to real problems, empirical studies and/or evaluation, among others.

• Project Abstracts – abstracts of research projects.

• Paper Abstracts – abstracts of finished research works, with collected data, which allows the subsequent production of a full paper.

Abstracts accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in the Conference Abstracts Book (in a digital format with ISBN).

Please note that only Paper Abstracts will be selected for PHASE 2.

PHASE 2 – Full Papers

• Authors of accepted Abstracts will be invited to send a full paper version of their work (optional), to be published in journals associated with WCQR2024, provided they fall into the scope of these journals;

• Selection of full papers for publication in associated journals is made according to the following criteria: the paper review, theme of the paper, and scope of the journal;

• Full papers must be sent using the template available in the next section.

PHASE 1 – Submission of Abstracts

Before submitting an abstract for review by the Scientific Committee, please verify that the information enabling the identification of the authors (names, authors’ affiliations, and references) has been withdrawn. As the review process is double-blind, information enabling the identification of the authors should not appear in the initial version for review. This information should only be included in the final version.

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract.

1. Abstracts must have between 250 and 300 words;

2. All abstracts must be submitted online, on the submission platform (see the link at the bottom of the page). Abstracts sent by email will not be considered;

3. An Abstract must be structured to include:

• • Introduction (Context/Justification);
  • Goals and Methods (research design, techniques / instruments for data collection and analysis);
  • Results (obtained or expected)
  • Conclusions. Abstracts should not include references.
  • Please identify these sections clearly in the Abstract.

4. All abstracts submitted to WCQR within the deadlines and according to the guidelines will be subjected to the review process (double-blind review). After completion of the review process, the contact author will be informed about the acceptance or rejection of the submitted work. In both cases, the reviewers’ comments will be available to the authors;

5. If accepted, a final version of the abstract must be submitted.

Please note:
Abstracts must be original and must not be under review for any other conference or national or international publication.

All works must be submitted and presented in English. Works in other languages will not be considered.

PHASE 2 – Full papers for publication

Authors of accepted Abstracts will be invited to send a full paper version of their work, to be published in journals associated with WCQR2024.

In-Person Presentation

Authors of accepted abstracts will have 15 minutes for the in-person presentation, plus 5 minutes for discussion at the conference.

Online Presentation (Synchronous Session)

Authors may choose to present their work online, in a synchronous session during the WCQR2024 program. Authors will have 15 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for discussion.

Online Presentation (Recorded Video)

Authors may choose to present their work in a 5-minute recorded video. Further instructions on the preparation and sending of recorded videos will be sent to authors by email in due time.

Videos will be made available on the WCQR Youtube channel, open to the community’s questions and comments.

• All Abstracts submitted within the deadlines and according to the guidelines will be subjected to a double-blind review process;
• Each of the submitted Abstracts will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the Scientific Committee;
• Abstracts submitted for review should not include information that allows the identification of the authors (to enable a double–blind review process). Thus, names, affiliations, and references to the authors should not appear in the Abstract. This information should only be included in the final version;
• After completion of the review process, the contact author will be informed about the acceptance or rejection of the submitted work. In both cases, the reviewers’ comments will be available to the authors;
• In case of acceptance, authors must meet the recommendations for improvement, prepare and submit the definitive version of the work up to the camera-ready paper submission deadline;
• In case of failure to consider the recommendations made by the reviewers, the Organizing Committee reserves the right not to include these works in the Conference Proceedings;
• The final version of the Abstract should also follow the appropriate style guide and should contain the authors’ data (names, institutions, and emails).
