This research intends to identify and to discuss the academic productions in the area of initial teacher training of physical education. In this review was selected articles at academic papers available online and accessible through data bases: SBU/UNICAMP; Scielo and ProQuest Database. The conclusions of this research showed that physical education initial teacher training is marked by a historical process of changes, that reflects into a epistemological crisis affecting initial teacher training.
