Proceedings of the 30th International Congress on Waterway Transport, Shipbuilding and Offshore

The Brazilian Society of Naval Engineering (SOBENA) will hold the 30th International Congress on Waterway Transport, Shipbuilding and Offshore on October 22, 23 and 24, 2024 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a hybrid format to increase the reach of the event and allow participants from other regions to participate remotely, if necessary.

The main objective of the Congress is to encourage the dissemination of research and work applied to the development of the naval, waterway and offshore sectors. The event will have sessions with presentations of technical work, guest lectures and panels with debates on relevant current topics related to the following thematic axes:

• Ports and waterways
• Cargo and Passenger Transport
• Logistics systems
• Project (including energy efficiency and decarbonization)
• Construction and commissioning
• Integrity management and life extension (including inspection and maintenance)
• Decommissioning/dismantling
• Marine environment
• Renewable Energies
• Digitization and artificial intelligence

The SOBENA Congress is the ideal forum for researchers, engineers, managers, technicians and students from the academic and industrial communities, the Brazilian Navy and government agencies.
