Resumo

This paper proposes an adaptive observer-based backstepping controller design tailored to address ship tracking problems. The controller is developed to facilitate precise tracking of desired trajectories while accommodating uncertainties inherent in marine environments.

The design integrates backstepping control methodology with adaptive observer techniques to achieve robust performance in the presence of model uncertainties and disturbances. An adaptive observer is employed to estimate unmeasured states and system parameters, enabling the controller to effectively compensate for dynamic variations and disturbances.

The proposed controller is validated through extensive simulations, demonstrating its effectiveness in ensuring accurate trajectory tracking under varying environmental conditions and disturbances. Comparative analyses with existing control strategies highlight the superior performance and robustness of the proposed approach.

The results underscore the potential of the adaptive observer-based backstepping controller in enhancing the tracking capabilities of ships, thus contributing to advancements in maritime navigation and control systems.
