Abstract

There is a resistance test result on two model ships different each other at fore body form. Wave making resistance of one of the two is considerably lower compared with that of another at the Froude number lower than 0.26. However, the reason why such rather large difference in wave making resistance has come out isn’t clear. So, theoretical study on the cause of the difference has been conducted. As a result, it has been clarified that the difference in form of a part of fore body mainly causes the difference in wave making resistance.
