Resume: Find ways to obtain energy sources from biomass without being associated with environmentally aggressive crops, how the of sugar cane, and also from petroleum fuels is the basis for building industrial growth in the Amazon region, without that deforestation and pollution being the price for development. Thus the Andiroba presents potential for sustainable development sustainable, because the oil obtained by seed extraction has its application established in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. Therefore associating the use to the residue of these processes closes the sustainability cycle and economic development of the material. The hydrolysis process of lignocellulosic material leads to the transformation of cellulose into fermentable sugars that can be convertedies to ethanol by fermentation. In this context, the objective of this work was to obtain fermentable sugars from the residues of andiroba seed husk processing through acid hydrolysis. Was performed characterization physicochemical: humidity (8,09%±0,05), ash (1,54%±0,01), fiber (66,26%±1,76) and protein (2,31%±0,06) according to AOAC standards, the particles of lignocellulosic material had a diameter smaller than 0.425mm. Hydrolysis experiments were performed on three sulfuric acid concentrations (0,25M, 0,5M e 1M) at at 120ºC for 2 hours in autoclave and the reading of reducing sugars by the spectrophotometric method of dinitrosalicylic acid whereby the 0.25M concentration presented the best yield (11,99%±0,002). Based on the results, the material has characteristics favorable to the hydrolysis process and indicates adequate concentrations of ashes and proteins that would later serve as nutrients for fermenting microorganisms fermentrs, thus enabling a suitable pH for such reactions. Therefore, the study showed that these residues have the potential for ethanol production with the generation of clean, renewable and sustainable energy and relatively cost-effective for bioethanol conversion.
