Bisphenol A (BPA) and benzophenones (BPs) are endocrine disruptors widely used in packaging and other food contact materials. The incidence of BPA and BPs has been reported in several foodstuffs, however, we do not have information about the incidence of these contaminants in infant formulas commercialized in Brazil. Considering this, the aim of this work was developed a simple method for simultaneous detection of bisphenol A and benzophenones in infant formulas using d-SPE as a technique of sample preparation and HPLC-DAD-FL as the detection system. For this, a Plackett-Burman design was carried out to evaluate the effect of eight factors (water, acetonitrile, PSA, CGB, C18, SAX, NaCl and ultrasound) in the extraction of BPA, benzophenone (BP), benzophenone-1 (BP-1), benzophenone-3 (BP-3), benzophenone-8 (BP-8), benzophenone 12 (BP-12). After, a central composite rotational design (CCRD), as well as the tool proposed by Derringer & Suich, were used to define the best condition for the simultaneous extraction of all compounds evaluated. The method was validated and showed limits of detection range from 0.02 to 0.5 mg.kg-1, limits of quantification from 0.06 to 2 mg.kg-1, accuracy between 5.57 to 17.68 and recovery varying from 52.38 to 106.45 percent. Finally, the method was used to evaluate the incidence of BPA and BPs in 26 infant formulas commercialized in Campinas.
