Resumo

One of the strategies that has been employed to improve the catalytic efficiency of the immobilized biocatalysts (IBs) is the modification of the supporting surface with ionic liquid (IL) for the immobilization of enzymes. In this context, for covalent immobilization of Burkholderia cepacia lipase (BCL), the AL2O3 was modified with the ionic liquids Diethanolamine Acetate (BHEAA) and Methyl-Monoethanolamine (2mHEAA) in order to produce efficient immobilized biocatalysts. The obtained results showed an increase of hydrolytic activity and immobilization yield for both Al2O3 modified with BHEAA and 2mHEAA. However, the immobilized lipase on modified Al2O3 with 2mHEAA had 200% of immobilization yield than the IB-Control (40%), possibly due to its greater hydrophobic nature. Futher, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis confirmed the characteristic alumina groups and the presence of characteristic bands of proteins. Thus, this study demonstrated to be an excellent immobilization strategy to improve catalytic performance on Al2O3 modified with ionic liquids.
