The cellulase production by solid-state fermentation (SSF) consists on an alternative to reduce the enzymes cost and to amplify their use. In SSF, aeration is one of the factors that influence the microbial growth and, consequently, on the excretion of cellulases, since it is related to the cellular respiration. In this sense, the present work studied the influence of aeration on FPase enzymatic activity, when comparing cultures with forced aeration versus natural aeration. It was obtained enzymatic activity of 5.40 U/gdm in culture with forced aeration and T. harzianum IOC-4127, which corresponded to an increase of 51.3% in relation to the culture with natural aeration.
