The synthetic dyes showed health and environmental problems and the natural dyes showed an attractive alternative use in the mainly food and pharmaceuticals industry. The fungal production of dyes isn´t depending of environmental conditions and they can be in low space. But, the production of submerse cultivation of fungi needs of purification, so this work has as objective the evaluated the chromatography process for purification of red dye produced by Talaroymces. The process was carried out by chromatography using ion exchange resin IRA-410 (3 g of resin for 30 mL of solution containing natural dye at ABS500 = 0.50). In this process, it was possible to adsorb 100% of the natural dye. The resin was submitted to the desorption process with 30 mL of NaCl solution and ethanol, where several tests were performed evaluating the variation of NaCl concentration and ethanol proportion, aiming at the determination of the eluent with the highest capacity of dye extraction. In this way, it was possible to perform a statistical analysis and determine the effects of the eluent in the red dye extraction, as well as to optimize the composition of the eluent used.
