This work recovers chlorophyll with an ease, fast, low cost process and using environmental-friendly solvent (ethanol is biodegradable solvent from biomass). In this work, it is development a two-phase systems based on PPG 2000 (polypropylene glycol with molecular weight of 2000 g.mol-1) combined with imidazolium based-ionic liquids (ILs) and ethanol, aiming to recovers chlorophyll from of aroeira leaves (Schinus terebinthifolius). The phase-forming ability was studied regarding different ILs alkyl chains and anions. Increase IL alkyl chain induce lower biphasic region, additionally anion hydrophobicity decrease the liquid-liquid demixing capacity. For all systems, chlorophyll migrates to top phase (PPG-rich phase) with obtained recovery yields between 55.20 and 100 %. After optimization of phase formers components, systems with the most hydrophilic IL obtained a maximum recovery value (100 %) using lower amounts of phase formers.
