Abstract

The Verdartis company is acting in the enzymes production for industrial process, with focus, mainly, in the segment of cellulose and paper. In this segment is possible the development efficient enzymatic products and of the low cost to pulp biobleaching and pulp and paper refining. Into necessity of enzymes production in highly efficient process, this work had as aim to evaluate the microfiltration process to step of clarification of the cultivation broth. To this is used membrane of 0.22 micrometer of pore diameter to clarify the culture broth obtained from cultivation of Escherichia coli DH5, modified genetically with PT7BSXA vector to xylanase production. The various tests of filtration were carried out and the results allowed to adjust a mathematical model to described the filtration process. With this, it was possible simulate the filtration process and evaluate the permeate volume with the time of operation, this allowed evaluate the microfiltration time of the cultivation broth in large scale and to determine the membrane area to filter the lagers volumes of the cultivation broth with E. coli.
