This study aimed to prepare an ion-exchange support (Amino–SiO2) via functionalization of rice husk silica (RHS) with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3–APTES). Several methods were used to characterize the introduction of aminopropyl groups on the RHS surface, such as Attenuated total reflectance – Fourier transform infrared (ATR–FTIR), Thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential thermal (DTA), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses. Functionalized support was used to immobilize Thermomyces lanuginosus lipase (TLL) via ionic interactions.
