ESTERASES PRODUCTION BY Yarrowia lipolytica VIA SOLID-STATE FERMENTATION
Lipases and cutinases are classified as esterases and have many applications in industry. This study aims to evaluate the esterases production by Yarrowia lipolytica via-solid state fermentation using soybean bran as substrate and different proportions (0, 2 and 5% w/w) of apple peels as an inducer for cutinases. The humidity adjustment was realized with water or an emulsion and esterases activities were determined spectrophotometrically. Y. lipolytica reached good levels of lipase production (8959 U/L) in the presence of an emulsion, but for cutinase production, the systems with water had better production (606,01 U/L).
