BIOCHEMICAL METHANE POTENTIAL PRODUCTION FROM Heterochlorella luteoviridis BIOMASS

Favorite this paper

The objective of the study was to determined potential biogas and methane production from biomass of microalga Heterochlorella luteoviridis. The biomass was cultivated in bench-scale photobioreactors. Biomass fermentation was conducted in 250 mL batch tests at 37.0 ± 2.0 °C. The biogas production was (530 LN Biogas kg SV-1) and methane yield of 75 %. This result suggest that biomass was readily utilized by anaerobic microorganisms indicating high biodegradability of biomass compounds.
