AVALIAÇÃO DA DENSIDADE DAS CLASSES DE DECOMPOSIÇÃO DA NECROMASSA EM UMA FLORESTA ESTACIONAL SEMIDECIDUAL

The objective was to evaluate the density of Coarse Woody Debris (CWD) in the decomposition classes (CD). The average apparent density for all CDs was 0.41 g cm-3 (S= ± 0.16 g cm-3). Density decreases with increasing CD. The size of the CWD was not determinant for the density variation. Through the model identity test, it was possible to conclude that to determine this property, only two CD are necessary, joining classes 1 and 2, and 3 and 4. It is concluded that the apparent density is inversely proportional to the class of decomposition and that only two DC are needed to evaluate this property, reducing the analysis costs.
