Instability may occur in mining areas due to the mass movement of rocks and soils, steep slope of the mine stands, torrential rains and other factors that occur at regular mining operations in the open. This scenario complicates the mines due to the deepening of the excavation in soil and rocks saprolite type of low quality geomechanics. The stereoscopy is a good tool to extract geological features, which along with geological field data, can be used to interpret breaks zones within the pit of the open pit mine, which makes this important tool for geotechnical study of the project. This study compared the pattern extracted from geological structures of interpretation in 3D stereo pairs TerraSAR-X and RADARSAT-2, with geological structures mapped in detail in the field (1:2000). And the result of stereo photo interpretation is valuable for providing information that enrich the knowledge about the presence of structures in N5E mine when compared with the structures mapped in the field.
