Análise Espacial de Taxas de Desmatamento na Amazônia Legal Maranhense: Espacialização e Diagnóstico do PPCD-MA

Abstract. Deforestation of the major biomes and its consequences, become a threat, rising to global companies. Understand why they occur and where this process takes place, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of control policies, it is a fundamental activity for the fulfillment of effective reduction targets. This paper seeks to understand the numbers PRODES (2001 - 2014) for the state of Maranhão and assess to what extent the Plano de Ação para Prevenção e Controle do Desmatamento e das Queimadas no Estado do Maranhão - PPCD-MA It is being fulfilled. The methodological procedures were constituted: acquisition of base vectors and numerical data processing and integration into GIS and Excel M. (2007), generating annual maps and overview maps as well as verification of the PPCD-MA goals. As a result, the data analyzed showed that the plan was successful in the period (2006-2015), with a positive balance of 2% reduction above the target. However, when considering the five-year period (2006- 2010) is noted a deficit of 273 km² reduction target. Thus, they can identify meso and priority municipalities for the development of control measures, due to the historical and current concentration of deforestation.
