Evolução de Geoformas Fluviais de Rio Xingu - Rio de Águas Claras Amazônico

Understanding the formation of landscapes is fundamental knowledge for environmental planning and management. Therefore, studies on the evolution of fluvial landforms can reveal the landscape’s limitations and potential for anthropogenic interventions. The study area, Embaubal, is a fluvial landscape of the Xingu River with biological significance for the Amazon, whose dynamics and evolution were compromised by the hydroelectric exploitation of the Xingu River. The objective of this research was to analyze the evolution of fluvial landforms in the Xingu River using image processing and classification techniques. The research facilitated the construction of a model of fluvial landscape evolution for Amazonian clear-water rivers.
