Abstract

In the coming decades, Urban Air Mobility will be a transport alternative in metropolitan regions. Research indicates that the demand for passenger transport is concentrated in central areas of cities and close to the airport. Given this scenario, there is a need for studies that demonstrate the feasibility of installing terrestrial infrastructure close to these locations in order to facilitate passenger access to the main destinations and not put operational risk safety. This research implements an eliminatory criteria analysis of vertiports location based on GIS software. To analyze the feasibility of the model, a case study was applied at the Airport of the largest city in Brazil, Congonhas Airport. The result demonstrates that the location of the vertiport is an essential factor for intermodal connectivity, however, to be close to potential areas of high demand, criteria such as the size of the landing area and obstacles need to be considered.
