Abstract

Real-time monitoring of boron (B) fertilization in eucalyptus is useful to guide accurate diagnosis and efficient management of plant boron nutrition, considering that this element acts in the meristematic growth of plants. The objective of this study was to identify the spectral bands usable for monitoring the boron status in eucalyptus plants. For the experiment, five treatments were established, whose contents ranged from deficit to toxicity. The remote sensing data used were bands, heights and vegetation indices calculated after obtaining the spectral curves in each treatment. From this study, it was concluded that it is possible to accurately distinguish boron levels in eucalypt using hyperspectral and multispectral bands, with the spectral range being 350-371 nm for detecting boron deficient plants, 426-444 nm with adequate levels, and 425-475 nm with boron toxicity.
