Control MDT SAOCOM con LIDAR en El Shincal de Quimivil

The generation of digital terrain models (DTM) with satellite synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR) is well known and has been subject of several publications. However, few years ago the SAOCOM constellation (acronym in Spanish for Argentine Microwave Observation Satellites) has been put into orbit by CONAE (National Commission for Space Activities, Argentina), marking a milestone in the region. For this reason, it is of great interest to evaluate the DTM obtained from their measurements. In this work, the evaluation is done with a dense LIDAR point cloud available in the study area, allowing the comparison against a superior quality DTM (centimetre precision); considering also the influence of different kind of vegetation.
