MONITORAMENTO DO USO E COBERTURA DA TERRA NO INTERIOR E ENTORNO DA ÁREA NORTE DO PARQUE NACIONAL DA SERRA DO DIVISOR/AC ENTRE 1988 E 2018

Protected areas have many purposes, such as the preservation of biodiversity, the subsistence of traditional populations and the sustainable use of their natural resources. In this context, this article aimed to map and analyze the dynamics of land use and coverage in the northern area of the Serra do Divisor National Park (PNSD) and in its surroundings between 1988 and 2018, located in the western Brazilian Amazon. Landsat images were used to perform the supervised classification with the Maxver algorithm. As results, the areas of pasture and mosaic of uses were the ones that expanded the most during the study period. It was concluded that the reduction of primary forest was lower in the interior (0.8%) than in the surrounding (3.8%) of the PNSD in the 30 years evaluated, resulting in less conversion of forests to pasture or to mosaic of uses within the Conservation Unit.
