Resumo

This study was based on imidazolium ionic liquids varying the alkyl chain length and the anions.

Phase separations were observed in systems with higher hydrophobicity as expected.

Systems formed surface layers in contact with the vacuum as also evidenced by XPS.

MD simulations were performed for all systems by using the Gromacs 2022 suite package

There were verification of lateral mobility confined to the surface
