Resumo
SiO and SiS are important silicon bearing species for astrochemistry, and have been observed in several regions of the interstellar medium.
In this work we studied the Si+SO2 reaction to verify if it is related to the abundances of SiS, SiO and other species in space.
We predict that Si+SO2 exothermically yields the monoxides SiO and SO, and is not a source of SiS.
As a contribution to the field, our results suggest a new possible neutral-neutral source of SiO in space, to be included in astrochemical databases.
