The SBQT is the most important event in the area of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry in the entire Southern Hemisphere. It has been held uninterruptedly since the beginning of the 80s of the last century and is now in its XXII edition. Bringing together the Brazilian Theoretical Chemistry community and researchers from abroad, the SBQT has a significant participation of professionals from the areas of Chemistry and Physics, as well as related areas such as Engineering, with the area of Materials Sciences, and Health, with the areas of Design and Planning of Pharmaceuticals. The main objective of the event is to offer professionals, professors, post-doctoral fellows, postgraduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about the latest advances in the area, presented by important researchers, in addition to presenting their own work. With the participation of national and foreign researchers, the SBQT allows the exchange of experiences and updating of knowledge for the entire community, being extremely important for the training of competent and up-to-date professionals. SBQT is characterized by investing in student training and formalizing collaborations, with activities that cover advanced topics, which contribute to complementing the training of professionals dedicated to the area of Theoretical Chemistry/Computational Chemistry/Molecular Modeling. Among the areas covered, we highlight Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Bio- and Chemo-informatics, Biophysics, Homogeneous/Heterogeneous Catalysis, Quantum Dynamics, Spectroscopy, Electronic Structure, Statistical Mechanics, Chemical Reactivity, Solids and Surfaces, among others. Over the years, SBQT has established itself as the most important Theoretical Chemistry congress in the country.
