Resumo

The power system networks have undergone significant changes in the last decades, where the increase in distributed generation represents enormous technical challenges. The distribution networks are traditionally radial, where the devices and procedures were designed according to this topology. Thus, the benefits brought by the allotted generation depend on changes in radial system, where the location and size of the generating units will have a direct impact. The correct redesign of the network can lead to reduction in energy losses and increase in the reliability levels for the whole system. In this paper, we present a research methodology for allocation and sizing of distributed generators. The methodology combines Data Mining Code of Repositories (DAMICORE) with the resolution of Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) models. The results achieved indicate that the proposed method has potential to become a useful tool for decision-making on distributed power system design.
