Abstract

This paper presents the results of a Monte Carlo simulation that aims to obtain which factors maximize the Probability of Detection (Pd) of a target by a torpedo and to obtain subsidies for the conduct of an Operational Evaluation, which consists of the research of effectiveness indicators, called Operational Effectiveness Measures (MEO), which measure the Critical Operational Aspects (AOC), which are the capabilities that a system must have to fulfill its mission. For the rational use of available resources, it is necessary to focus on obtaining the MEOs that effectively contribute to measuring the AOC sought and to separate the MEOs that do not affect, or have little impact, on the final result. The concentration of efforts on obtaining the most important MEOs leads to substantial savings in resources. Four MEOs were chosen to carry out the experiment, which was designed as a complete factorial experiment contemplating a total of 16 runs.
