Abstract

The implementation of an experimental green hydrogen plant requires deciding, right in the pilot phase, which technological routes offer the best economic return and the greatest socio-environmental benefit. Thus, this study aims to apply a multicriteria model of decision support, with the FITradeoff method, to prioritize nine alternatives, from ammonia to sustainable kerosene, evaluated by five criteria: Economic feasibility, market demand, technical feasibility, sustainability and logistical ease. A numerical application was made to validate the model. The ranking positioned green steel, green methanol, fuel cell electricity and green ammonia as ideal initial investments, utilizing 81% of a $5,000,000 budget. The sensitivity analysis validated the robustness of the model, offering concrete subsidies for the economically and socially responsible expansion of the plant
