Abstract

The decarbonization of the transport sector requires the accelerated expansion of advanced biofuels, especially for segments that are difficult to electrify. This study analyzes the IEA Bioenergy Task 39 database, composed of 258 active demonstration facilities of advanced biofuels. The objective is to evaluate and rank the technological maturity of these projects through a multicriteria model based on the PROMETHEE method. The approach considers criteria such as operational status, technological route, production capacity, type of raw material, and regional context of public policies. The method includes data pre-processing, definition of weights, application of PROMETHEE I and II, and sensitivity analysis. Preliminary results indicate higher technological maturity for hydrotreatment-based facilities integrated with existing refineries, while gasification and cellulosic ethanol projects show greater dispersion at maturity levels.
