Maturity models have become widely disseminated organizational diagnostic tools, but their traditional linear formulation reduces the informational richness of the evaluation, ignores the interdependence between dimensions, and offers a fragile basis for prioritizing improvements. In this paper, we investigate how multicriteria decision support methods (MCDA) have been integrated with maturity models to overcome these limitations. We conducted a systematic review of the literature supported by the PROKNOW-C method, from which we constituted a bibliographic portfolio of 32 articles published between 2016 and 2026, indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, submitted to bibliometric, thematic, and systemic analyses. We found sustained growth in scientific production, with a significant inflection in 2025, and we identified that multicriteria methods are mobilized at all stages of the modeling cycle, aggregation of expert judgments, weighting of criteria, ranking, sorting classification and calculation of the maturity level, predominantly in hybrid arrangements that articulate AHP, BWM, TOPSIS, ARAS, VIKOR, DEMATEL and CRITIC, with frequent use of fuzzy, hesitant, neutrosophical, and Pythagorean variants. We also observed the shift of the field towards probabilistic instruments, dynamic and less vulnerable to the variance of human judgment, while the operationalization in decision support systems remains incipient. Our contribution consists in offering an analytical taxonomy organized in the axes modeling, evaluation and function, systematizing the most recurrent MCDA combinations.
