Abstract

This work, the result of a partnership agreement, addresses the optimization of the logistics process at the Lojas Renner distribution centre. The work proposes an exact optimization mathematical model dedicated to solving the order batching problem and the formation of picking waves. To assess the robustness of the solution, the modeling was tested on five instances based on real data, encompassing highly complex scenarios with up to 2070 boxes, 1000 SKUs, and more than 77900 items. The computational performance was highly efficient, achieving the optimal solution in less than 28 seconds, even for the largest instance. Such evidence confirms the feasibility of applying exact methods in the management of large-scale logistics operations.
