DIGITAL SHADOW STACK HOMOGENIZATION: CASE STUDY DEVELOPED IN PIVISION

This paper presents the development and application of a digital shadow entitled “Gestão dos Pátios de Homogeneização”, aimed at monitoring and operational management of homogenization stockpiles in iron ore mining units. The solution was developed on the AVEVA PI Vision platform, integrating plant automation data and laboratory analyses with real-time updates. The proposed approach enables tracking the ore mass and quality along the sections of the stockpiles, supporting operational decisions related to stacking, reclaiming, and homogenization. Its application in two operational units with distinct characteristics — Vargem Grande II and Conceição I — demonstrates the replicability and adaptability of the model, while preserving the same analytical foundation. The results show improvements in operational visibility, traceability, and process predictability, aligned with innovative technologies applied in mining.
