Abstract

This article conducts a study for the choice of the multicriteria method for the prioritization process in the Maintenance Decision Support System (SAD-MAN) of the Brazilian Navy. To assist in the definition of the method, an exploratory experiment was carried out with simulated data, comparing the performance of four different approaches: Traditional AHP, the hybrid configuration AHP-TOPSIS, PrOPPAGA and AHP-Gaussian. The analysis evaluated the suitability of these tools for the
traceability requirements, handling of uncertainties and scalability potential of naval planning. As an exploratory result, the AHP-TOPSIS model stood out as the most promising architecture, using the AHP for the doctrinal definition of the weights of the criteria and the TOPSIS for the efficient ordering of the alternatives.
