The efficient management of failures and operational downtime is a constant challenge in complex industrial processes such as sintering. This article details the application of the TOPSIS multicriteria decision-making aid method to create a priority hierarchy for 32 critical operational events. Six evaluation criteria (Production, Safety, Cost, Quality, Environment and Human Factors) were defined and justified, weighted according to their strategic importance. The methodology is explained step by step, from the construction of the decision matrix to the calculation of the final ranking. The results show that the event 'Accidental Stop of the Cable Car after Dumpster Fall' was classified as the most critical. It is concluded that TOPSIS is a robust, transparent and effective tool to support managerial decision-making, directing resources to the most urgent corrective and preventive actions.
