Abstract

This study performed a comparative analysis of the capability in the manufacture of clinker, an important component in the composition of cement, by means of the univariate and multivariate WPC and WAMP methods. From the data of the cement plant under study, a univariate analysis was performed that showed that parameters, such as C3S+, MA and CaOl, had low capacity, while SO3 was excellent. Next, the WPC method, which looks at statistical variance, indicated that the overall process was 'Inadequate', with a multivariate Cpk of 0.61. Finally, WAMP, which allows prioritizing characteristics, confirmed that the low capability of a priority parameter directly affects the multivariate index. Thus, when prioritizing C3S+, the multivariate Cpk was 0.48, the same value as the univariate Cpk of C3S+. This situation shows that WAMP aligns the capability assessment with strategic objectives, allowing it to focus on the most important characteristics and optimize clinker production.
