The objective of this work was to develop a multiobjective optimization approach for the selective maintenance of components in the industry, aiming at the efficient management of resources under different maintenance intervals. After selecting a case study, a mathematical formulation of the optimization problem was carried out considering the objectives of maximizing reliability and minimizing the cost with the different constraints associated with maintenance activities. The next step consisted of the implementation of the NSGA-II (Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II) algorithm. After the application of the algorithm in the case study, the results highlighted the importance of selective maintenance as a strategy to manage limited resources, especially with regard to the management of the repairers' available time, generating different combinations of maintenance levels and types of repairers per component, highlighting the conflict between reliability and maintenance costs. It was concluded that a multiobjective perspective of selective maintenance has advantages for industrial maintenance management.
