Abstract

The communicative competence of professional journalism produced in Brazilian universities, although it has been consolidating and expanding its presence in the public space, is poorly understood in its specificities. In order to contribute to the characterization of this practice, an indicative reading of 18 academic studies that proposed to understand "university journalism" was carried out, seeking to identify clues about the elements that characterize it and give it its own contours. The analysis allowed us to identify communication problems that sustain this practice, as well as its objectives, contexts of interaction, actions on these contexts, strategies, dynamics of variation, patterns and principles. The evidence points to a practice that has been acquiring specificity in the articulation of different demands specific to the university context.
