This coordinated session aims to promote research and discussion in the field of Studies in Literary Journalism, starting from the understanding of literary journalism as a set of genres that are journalistic in their content and methods of investigation and that have as materiality the expressive language of literature. Studies in Literary Journalism were developed in parallel over several decades, in different nationalities and from different nomenclatures, and have been built as a field in a more articulated way since 2006, with the foundation of the International Association for Literary Journalism Studies (IALJS) and the journal Literary Journalism Studies. In the same way that the field has been constructed, this thematic session will welcome both contributions from a theoretical point of view and analyses of literary journalism texts from the most diverse perspectives, which may include but are not restricted to: historiography of the development of literary journalism; thematic categorizations (travel narratives, science and technology narratives, sports, etc.); the configuration of genres such as the profile, the biography, the book-reportage, etc.; discursive strategies of literary journalism, such as the role of information sources and the way in which the agendas are selected and developed; aspects related to production processes; analyses focused on the production of specific authors or vehicles; relations between the theories of Journalism and the theories of Literary Journalism, etc. The session will also welcome works related to other modalities of narrative journalism, such as journalistic comics, documentaries, etc
