This article analyzes the challenges for the protection of journalists and communicators in Brazil from the dimensions of gender, sexuality, race, and other intersectionality. The central axis is the report Latin American Reflections for the Protection of Women and LGBTQIAPN+ Communicators, published by ARTICLE 19 and South America, in 2026. We sought to understand how women and LGBTQIAPN+ people are crossed by specific forms of violence in the exercise of communication and to what extent Brazilian protection mechanisms contemplate these differences. A qualitative, bibliographic and documentary research was carried out - analysis of the report and documents related to Brazilian protection policies. It argues for the need to understand the safety of communicators from an intersectional perspective, capable of articulating freedom of expression, gender, sexuality, race and human rights.
