Abstract

The journalistic field is going through what literature and the market have agreed to call the 'perfect storm'. At the intersection of the chronic crisis of business models and the disruptive rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AGI), newsrooms face a dual challenge: to adopt technology to ensure productive efficiency without corrupting the ethical rigor that underlies the profession.

The exponential advance of automation brings undeniable gains in scale, but it also pushes the boundaries of authenticity and traditional journalistic mediation. Faced with an informational ecosystem (regional and national) saturated by algorithmic content and the threat of mass disinformation, it is urgent to reaffirm the role of journalism and deepen scientific reflection on these structural transformations.

The objective of this coordinated session of JorTec is to foster critical and scientific debate on the impacts, limits and potentialities of Artificial Intelligence in contemporary journalism.

We invite researchers in the area to submit papers that stress changes in production routines, regulatory frameworks under construction, and the preservation of the ethical pillars of informational credibility. Empirical investigations (qualitative or quantitative) and consistent theoretical reflections that present methodological clarity to analyze rapidly changing phenomena will be accepted
