Abstract

The present work presents data from the pre-test of a survey with Brazilian journalistic organizations with a focus on mapping demands that can be met by university research of an applied nature in journalism. The investigation was structured based on a respondent registration form followed by a questionnaire aimed at managers and professionals in leadership positions of journalistic organizations. The pre-test, applied between February and July 2026, obtained 14 valid responses, allowing the identification of initial trends and the evaluation of methodological aspects of the research. The reading of the return data indicates a receptivity to academic partnerships for research and, therefore, a favorable scenario for purposeful research in the area. Finally, the results suggest the need for adjustments in data collection instruments and new dissemination strategies to increase the participation of responses from the surveyed population.
