Abstract

This research investigates how the incorporation of artificial intelligence is articulated with the organizational dynamics and forms of agency of journalists in O Globo, analyzing the effects of this process on daily working practices and conditions. The theoretical-methodological foundation consists of the application of an analytical matrix that articulates algorithmic mediations as a relational phenomenon through three axes: infrastructures, imaginaries and practices. Methodologically, the study is anchored in an ethnography carried out in the newspaper's newsroom in June 2026. The findings reveal the emergence of the figure of the "journalist builder" in the midst of a recalibration of epistemic authority. It is concluded that the incorporation of AI reconfigures journalistic work, simultaneously expanding the agency of professionals and their dependence on external technological infrastructures.
