EVALUATION OF SILICA-BASED SORBENT FUNCTIONALIZED PHENYL FOR RETENTION OF BOOSTER BIOCIDES

Favorite this paper

In this study evaluates the capacity of retention for booster biocides (zinc pyrithione, zineb and ziram) by silica-based sorbent functionalized phenyl using solid phase extraction. The metals concentration obtained through the cleaning step were 3 ± 1 µg L-1 Cr, 8 ± 1 µg L-1 Cu, 28 ± 7 µg L-1 Fe, 16 ± 3 µg L-1 Ni and 175 ± 16 µg L-1 Zn. Significant retention of booster biocides in Si-PH were observed: 94 ± 0.1% (1292 ± 15 ng g-1) for ZnPT, 75 ± 0.5% (1333 ± 3 ng g-1) for zineb and 93 ± 0.09% (1828 ± 22 ng g-1) for ziram. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method for retention of booster biocides by Si-PH sorbent.
