Log inCurrently I research the relationship between children, games, and families. Online gaming is the entertainment of many children and adolescents, which has intensified during the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The phenomenon of toxic behavior has also taken root in those games. While digital games include, it also raises big questions regarding online interactions. Toxic behavior is strongly present in games. Toxic behaviors found in literature are Flaming or Harassment, Griefing, Cheating, Scamming and Cyberbullying. Common offenses can include racism, homophobia, sexism, xenophobia, etc. In a Survey conducted this year (PIRES e FORTIM, 2021) , the data also showed a high rate of incitement to suicide and personal threats (such as rape and murder), showing that verbal violence in games is increasing. For these reasons, I believe that digital literacy would be of great help in this scenario. Many online bullies are children, who do not fully understand what they are doing and think that they are protected by anonymity.
