Abstract

Gold nanorods synthesis yield is strongly influenced by surfactant origin and temperature control. Removing surfactant excess by centrifugation/re-suspension is essential for SERS performance. Optimal conditions for the SERS spectra of the cyanine dye IR-820 are reported.
